Re: article on electricity import from India

Dear Ratna Sansarji,

Good article. I fully agree with your views particularly on the construction of the 400 kV trans-boundary transmission line. NEA and ILFS are joint owners of the cross-border transmission comapany. Yet, I read somewhere that it was NEA that was requesting our good Indian Embassy to help finance the Dhalkebar-Muzzafarpur 400 kV transmission line. ILFS just sits and yawns while the Stupid NEA goes ahead to make that request so that Nepal always kneels to Delhi with the Begging Bowl. Isn't this the job of ILFS?

Ratna Sansarji, I have realized that the major fault in our Water Resources activities is with US OURSELVES. India, like any other country, would want to hem in Nepal. But we ourselves stupidly walk into the net - the famous case you pointed out about Dr. Shankar Sharma, withour doing any homework himself, quoting somebody else like TN Thakur's figures on royalties to Nepal.

I have requested the coleagues at NEA to concentrate on the Transmission Line Constraints Within Nepal and put the Cross-border transmission line at the back-burner. I am happy that you are also of that opinion!

With kind regards,
SB Pun
