Salute to Leela Mani Poudyal, chair NEA board, for cancellation of diesel plant

It is heartening to learn about NEA making up its mind regarding diesel plant; not to get into this financial mess. Otherwise, to run 80 MW round the year it would have cost Rs 20 billion additionally (as shortfall in supply even in wet season is more than 80 MW, it would have been imperative to operate it around the year) to NEA. It would have forced NEA to incur incremental loss by Rs 15 billion on top of projected Rs 10 billion in the current year. People are enthused by the fact that NEA board has arrived at this decision notwithstanding the fact that care taker PM had committed to go ahead with diesel plant.
