Dear Prof Lohani

Thanks a lot for putting your finger on the “raw nerve” and also for your encouragement. I am committed to continue with my “campaign” – this is the least I could do to our motherland.

If you have time and inclination, I invite you to an interaction program on this very topic. This is the first time that an open forum is being organized to discuss Nepal’s water resources. It is on Friday at 1 PM. The venue is Rashtriya Nach Ghar.

With best regards,

Sincerely,

Ratna Sansar Shrestha

Dear Ratna Sansarji,

Thanks and congrats for yur article which once again defends the national interest.Your argument that the full capacity of Upper karnali should be harnessed and electricity should be sold to Nepalese at cheaper rate and then the surplus power could be sold to India at competitive price is sound and convincing. The current deal for 300 MW with 12 percent royalty to Nepal which fetches only peanuts is certainly'penny wise pound foolish 'approach and Nepal will continue to suffer from loadshedding and will be forced to buy power from India at expensive rates while selling our own generated power at throw away price. This is the height of stupidity.Three cheers for your bold and nationalistic stand!

With regards,

Mohan Lohani
